While visiting Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont, I was taken aback by this scene and knew I had to paint it. It was a warm summer day and the abstract shapes of land, light and shadow seemed to fall perfectly into place. Everything felt harmonius, as if the landscape had composed itself just for the moment.
